About the event
Workshop Overview:
Grief is one of the most universal human experiences, yet it is also one of the most misunderstood. Many people are taught how to comfort others, but very few are taught how grief actually works in the body, mind, and nervous system. This workshop offers a grounded introduction to trauma-informed grief education—helping participants understand how loss impacts the nervous system, how unresolved grief can surface as emotional triggers or behavioral patterns, and how to create safe, supportive spaces for grief to be expressed without forcing resolution.
Rather than approaching grief as something to “fix,” this workshop reframes grief as a natural, adaptive response to loss that deserves witnessing, containment, and compassionate presence. Through teaching, discussion, and experiential exercises, participants will explore how grief appears in everyday life, how trauma shapes the grieving process, and how to work with grief ethically and responsibly in personal or professional contexts.
